Maruti Steel

You can find Maruti Steel over at Shop No. 8 and 9 inside the Maruti Palace building here in Curchorem. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the two shops side by side to give us enough room for all the steel rods and sheets we keep in stock. Dealing with steel is heavy work, and it’s usually quite dirty, so our clothes never stay clean for long. Curchorem is a small enough town where people generally know where to find things. We see a lot of local builders and folks doing their own home repairs coming through the doors. The building itself has seen better days, but it serves its purpose for us. Usually, the morning starts with checking what came in on the last delivery and trying to stack it so we can actually move around. It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes, fitting everything into the space we have. The noise of metal clanging is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. We don’t have a website or anything fancy; we just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. Sometimes it’s slow, and we just sit and watch the street, but then three people will show up at once needing something cut to size. That is just how the steel business works for us. We just try to be helpful and give people what they need without any fuss. It's just how we do things here.
