Yorky Wears

We are based at No. 371 / 5 in Govind Puri, which is part of the Kalkaji area. This neighborhood is very crowded and the streets are narrow, so it’s always a bit of an adventure getting here, especially if you’re driving. Yorky Wears is tucked away in one of these lanes. It is a busy place with a lot of shops and small workshops all crammed together. Our space is filled with fabric, sewing machines, and various bits of thread and buttons. It’s not a polished retail store; it’s more of a working space where things actually get made. There are always people coming and going, and the sound of the machines is the background music to our day. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures. We just make the clothes and send them out. Sometimes we run out of space because of all the stock, and we have to shuffle things around to make room to move. The power goes out once in a while, which is just part of living and working in Govind Puri. We take our tea breaks on the steps outside or just standing around the work tables. It’s a humble setup, but we’re proud of the fact that we stay busy and keep things moving without any big fuss.
