Down in South Ex-1, specifically at B-32, things move pretty fast. New Delhi is always loud and crowded, and this spot is no different. We spend most of our days surrounded by stacks of fabric and the sound of sewing machines humming in the background. It’s a bit cramped sometimes with all the rolls of cloth and the half-finished pieces hanging up, but that’s just how it goes in a place like this. We aren't trying to be some high-end luxury brand with a glass storefront. We are just a group of people making clothes and making sure the stitching is right. You might find some threads on the floor or a cup of tea sitting on a cutting table. The light coming in from the window isn't great, but we make it work. Customers walk in off the street in South Extension and we just talk to them normally. There’s no scripted greeting here. We know the local shops around us and we’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. Some days are stressful when there’s a big order to finish, and other days we just sit and chat while we work. It’s a real job with real people. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just cut, sew, and fold. If you come by B-32, you'll see us there, probably busy with a measuring tape around someone's neck.
