Our office is in Nehru Nagar, which is a busy little pocket of New Delhi. We’re located at 6/60, and if you walked in, you’d probably see stacks of fabric samples and garments hanging everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We’ve been here for years, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. The fashion business sounds fancy, but the reality is a lot of hard work in a cramped space. We spend our days looking at buttons, zippers, and different types of cloth. There’s always a sewing machine humming somewhere in the background or someone arguing over a delivery delay. It gets quite hot in the summers, and the fans just move the warm air around, but we’re used to it. We aren't the type of place with a big shiny showroom. Our work happens on these old wooden tables where we cut patterns and check the quality of the stitching. Sometimes we stay until late at night when a big shipment needs to go out. Everyone chips in, even the office staff, to make sure things are packed correctly. It’s a noisy, busy place where something is always happening. We just focus on the clothes and getting the orders out to where they need to go. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it a long time now. The street outside is always full of people, but we just stay busy inside.
