Vimla Handicrafts

M-65 in Lajpat Nagar II is where we spend most of our waking hours. Vimla Handicrafts is a small operation, and the space is packed with all sorts of things we’ve collected and sorted. It’s one of those shops where you have to look closely to see everything because we use every inch of the walls and shelves for display. The street outside is always humming with people looking for bargains, but inside it’s a bit more focused, though just as cluttered. We spend a lot of time dusting the handicrafts and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes the light bulbs flicker and we have to give them a tap, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the stock inside out. We spend the mornings checking what came in the day before and the afternoons dealing with whoever walks through the door. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with a reception desk or a shiny lobby. You just walk in and you’ll see one of us sitting behind the counter or moving boxes around near the back. We like the pace of the market, even when it gets exhausting during the hot summer months or the festival seasons. It’s a lot of manual effort to keep things looking decent, and we do our best with what we have. It’s just a local business trying to keep things moving every day.
