Sangam Vihar is always crowded, and Street No. 5 is no different. We are over at D-5/74, not too far from Batra Hospital. If you are looking for us, you will probably see some heavy equipment or parts sitting near the entrance. The block D area has a lot of traffic, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a struggle some days. The office inside is small and filled with manuals and spare parts. We spend a lot of time on our feet or under machines. It gets pretty greasy. There is a specific smell of motor oil that just sticks to everything here. We usually have the radio playing in the background to drown out the noise from the street. Lunch is usually whatever someone brings from home or something quick from the local shops around the corner. It is a noisy place, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need to do. Dealing with forklifts and engineering equipment means things are always heavy and a bit messy. We don't have much of a reception area, just a desk and some chairs where we sit when we aren't busy with the equipment. It is a straightforward operation. We just show up, do the work, and try to get home before the evening rush really kicks in.
