Sajida Exports

Sajida Exports is tucked away in Batla House, right in the middle of Jamia Nagar. If you’ve ever been to Okhla, you know the streets are narrow and there’s always something happening. Our address is F57/7, and it’s a busy little corner. The building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow, so moving stuff in and out can be a real pain sometimes. We’ve got a few rooms where the machines are set up, and it gets pretty warm in the summer, even with the fans going full blast. Most of the people working here live nearby, so there's a lot of chatter about local news and what's happening in the neighborhood. We don’t have a big corporate office or a lobby; it’s just a workspace filled with fabric and thread. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost because the numbering in this part of Okhla is a bit confusing, so we end up standing out on the street to wave them down. It’s a lived-in kind of place. There’s a tea shop just down the road that makes the best chai, and we’re usually there at least once a day. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just getting through the daily list of things to finish. It’s noisy, it’s dusty, and there’s always a pile of work waiting, but it’s home for us during the day. We just keep at it and hope for the best.
