R.Shah Trading Company

Our office is down in the basement at B-155 in Lajpat Nagar-I. It can be a little hard to find if you aren't looking closely for the stairs, but once you’re down here, it’s actually quite spacious. R.Shah Trading Company has been operating out of this spot for years. We deal with all sorts of goods and shipments that come through. There’s usually boxes stacked up near the entrance because the delivery guys come at odd hours. It’s not a fancy showroom. We have some old desks and a few computers that have seen better days. My nephew handles most of the paperwork now while I talk to the suppliers. Lajpat Nagar is always noisy, but the basement stays pretty quiet, which is nice for getting work done. We handle a lot of local orders and some from further out too. The air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but it keeps the place cool enough in the summer. We don't spend money on big ads. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve been buying from us since the start. It’s a straightforward business. We buy things, we store them, and we sell them. There’s no magic to it. Just staying on top of the inventory and making sure the counts are right. We stay late most nights to finish the logs. It's just how we do things here.
