Our office for Mirza International Ltd(Red Tape Shoe) is tucked away on the first floor over in Okhla Industrial Estate Phase-3. Being in an industrial area means it is always noisy outside with trucks and people moving around all day long. We handle a lot of the shoe business stuff from here at 31/A Shyam Nagar. It’s mostly desks, shoe samples scattered around, and people talking about production schedules or leather quality. New Delhi summers get really hot, so the AC is usually running full blast in this space. It is not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy lounge chairs or art on the walls. Instead, there are stacks of boxes and catalogs everywhere you look. We spend our time checking that the sizes are right and the orders are moving along. It’s a bit of a maze in this building, but once you find the stairs to the first floor, you’re in the right spot. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don’t need many formal meetings. We just know what needs doing. Sometimes we have tea together when things slow down in the late afternoon. It is just a regular workplace where we focus on footwear. We don’t really do much besides the daily grind of checking orders and talking to the factory guys. It’s a practical setup for a shoe company, and we keep things simple while staying on top of the pile of work.
