Millan Hair Cutting Saloon

Our little shop is Shop No-C1/869 in Madan Gir, Delhi. If you know where the Desu Office is, we are very close to that spot. It’s a crowded neighborhood with narrow streets and lots of life. We have been cutting hair here for a long time. The shop is small and has a very old-fashioned feel to it. We have the usual mirrors and the adjustable chairs that have been there since we opened. The walls are a plain color and we have some pictures of different hair styles pinned up, though most people just ask for the same thing every time. It’s a noisy part of Delhi, so there is always the sound of scooters and people talking outside. Inside, we just focus on the job. We use manual clippers sometimes and electric ones too. We keep a stack of old newspapers for people to read while they wait. The floor is concrete and we sweep it after every person. It’s just a place for men to get a quick cut and maybe talk about the local news. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the neighbors to stop by. It’s a simple way to make a living in Madan Gir. We are just part of the street here and we enjoy seeing the familiar faces every day.
