Manoj Saloon

If you walk down the main road in Tehkhand, Okhla Industrial Area Phase 1, you will find Manoj Saloon at number 235. Being in an industrial area like this in Delhi means we get a lot of workers and staff from the nearby factories. It’s a very busy part of town, and there is always a layer of dust in the air from all the trucks moving around. Our shop is quite basic. We have the old-style barber chairs and big mirrors that have a few spots on them. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that spin fast all day long. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but nobody seems to mind much. We do standard haircuts and shaves for the men who work around here. Most of them are in a hurry to get back to their shifts, so we work quickly. We don't have a menu of services or anything like that. You just tell us what you want, and we do it. Sometimes we run out of clean towels if it's been a particularly busy morning, so we have to wash them quickly out back. The floor is covered in hair most of the time because there’s rarely a moment to stop and sweep properly until the end of the day. It’s a tough, noisy environment, but we’ve been here at 110020 for a long time and we know how to handle the rush.
