Maha Mai Engineers

Our workshop is in Okhla Phase Ii, at the Okhla Industrial Area 50 1. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s all about manufacturing and engineering. Maha Mai Engineers is right in the middle of it. It’s a noisy place with machines running and people shouting over the din. We have a lot of heavy metal pieces lying around and the floor is usually a bit oily. We don't have a fancy lobby, just a small desk near the entrance where we keep the logbooks. We spend most of our time on our feet, working on whatever project is currently on the floor. It can get quite dusty, especially when the wind blows through the open shutters. We have a small crew and we’ve all been doing this for a long time. We don't really have a big website or anything like that. We just do the engineering work that comes our way. Sometimes it’s repair work and other times we are making things from scratch. We drink our tea standing up most days. It’s a hard-working environment but we like the honesty of it. You make something, you fix something, and you go home. That’s the way it’s been at Okhla for us for years now. We just get on with the tasks we have and try to stay on schedule.
