Laxmi

Laxmi has been sitting right here at A-129 in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar for quite a while now. If you know this part of New Delhi, you know how busy the lanes get, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out and about. We started this place because we wanted to have something of our own in the neighborhood. It isn't a massive showroom or anything fancy like what you see in the malls, just a solid space where we get our work done every day. Most of the folks who drop by are people from just around the corner or from the next block over. We spend a lot of our time just organizing the stock and making sure things are where they should be. Sometimes the power goes out or the dust from the road gets inside, but we just clean it up and keep moving. We don't have a big team of people in suits. It is just us, trying to handle things as they come. When people walk in, they usually know what they are looking for, and we just help them find it without making a big fuss. It is a bit loud outside sometimes with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the daily tasks. We have seen the area change a lot over the years, but our spot remains pretty much the same. We just show up in the morning, open the shutters, and see what the day brings.
