Aqua Spices

Being on the first floor here in Defence Colony keeps us slightly tucked away from the main sidewalk noise. It’s a decent spot, number 45, and we’ve gotten used to the stairs. Most of the time, it’s just us doing the daily chores like checking the vegetable deliveries or making sure the spices are stored right. We don't go in for anything flashy. The walls are a plain color and we keep the furniture basic because that’s what works for us. Living and working in Delhi means you’re always dealing with the heat or the dust, so we spend a lot of our morning just cleaning up. The neighbors know us, and we know them. Sometimes people stumble up the stairs looking for somewhere else, and we point them in the right direction. It’s not a complicated setup here. We have a small team, and most of us have been working together for a few years now. We know who likes what and who prefers to sit by the window. The afternoon lull is usually when we sit down ourselves for a quick meal before the dinner crowd starts arriving. It gets a bit cramped when it’s full, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day. We aren't trying to be fancy, just keeping the place going as usual.
