About Jack Angle Kalakshetra Institute – Art & Craft in South Delhi
We are tucked away in Saket at C-81. It is a residential area, so it stays pretty peaceful which is good for an institute like ours. We focus on the arts and teaching people who want to learn something new. It is not a huge school with hundreds of rooms. It is more of a personal space where we can actually talk to each person who walks through the door. We have got some instruments and some floor space for the classes. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when the evening batch arrives, but we make it work. The paint on the walls is a bit scuffed in places from the kids running around, but that shows it is being used. We did not want a cold, professional environment. We wanted a place that feels like a home where you can just practice your craft. Most of our students live nearby in Saket or come from the surrounding neighborhoods. We spend our days planning the next lessons or just cleaning up after a busy session. It is hard work keeping an arts institute going, but we enjoy the quiet moments too. There is no big reception desk here. If you knock, someone will come to the door eventually. We are usually in the middle of something. It is just us, doing our best to keep the arts alive in this little corner of the city. We enjoy the process.
