We are based on the ground floor of Building No C/108, which is just a short walk from the Defence Colony Flyover Market in Lajpat Nagar 1. It’s a prime spot for seeing everything that goes on in the market area, and there is never a quiet moment. Most of our morning is taken up by sorting through the fabrics at Indian Silk House and making sure everything is stacked in the right place. Being on the ground floor means we get a lot of dust from the road, so we are constantly wiping things down. The flyover market is always buzzing with people, especially on the weekends, and you can hear the hum of the traffic all day. We don't have a very formal way of running things; it’s more about just getting the work done and talking to the people who drop by. The space in C/108 is a bit old-fashioned, but it suits what we do just fine. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the other shopkeepers nearby while we wait for deliveries to arrive. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving heavy rolls of cloth and making sure the inventory is correct. We don't really use any big words or fancy sales pitches; we just show people what we have and let them decide. By the time we start closing up, the market is usually at its loudest with shoppers and the flyover lights start reflecting in our windows.
