Indian Handicrafts Emporium

You can find us at 5, Main Mehrauli Road. It is a very busy stretch of road, especially being so close to the Qutab Minar. You can almost see the top of it from outside our door on a clear day. Indian Handicrafts Emporium is a place where we have spent a lot of our lives. The shop is filled with all kinds of handmade things from all over. It is a bit of a mix-up of different styles and materials. The noise from the traffic on Mehrauli Road is something you just get used to after a few weeks. We have some heavy wooden pieces and smaller things made of stone or cloth. It isn't a museum, so things are a bit crowded together. We don't spend much on decorations for the shop itself because the items we have are enough to look at. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy with packing straw and tape when we are moving things around for a new shipment. It is just a regular shop run by people who know the area well. We like the location because everyone knows where the Minar is, so we never have to explain the directions too much. We stay open pretty late most days just to catch the evening crowd. It is a lot of work keeping everything dusted and in order, but we manage. There is usually someone here sitting near the back if the front looks empty.
