His & Her Unisex Saloon

We are sitting right here in B 218, Krishna Market, which is part of Lajpat Nagar 1. If you know the area, we are directly opposite Anand Chola Bhatura. That means we smell food all day long, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes makes us really hungry before our lunch break. The shop is a basic unisex saloon where we handle all kinds of hair and skin stuff. Lajpat Nagar is always loud and full of energy, so there is never a quiet moment outside our door. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more calm for whoever is in the chair. We have some old chairs that are still comfortable and a lot of different bottles on the counters. Families come in a lot because we do both men's and women's hair. It’s funny seeing the kids grow up over the years; one day they’re getting their first trim and the next they’re asking for something trendy. We don’t have any big corporate rules or anything like that. We just open the shutters, turn on the lights, and wait for the first person to walk in. Dealing with the Delhi heat is the hardest part, but we have the AC running most of the time. The floor gets covered in hair clippings pretty fast, so someone is always sweeping. It’s a busy life in Krishna Market, but we like being right in the middle of it all. Just a regular local shop for regular people.
