Gulshan Handicrafts

Lajpat Nagar-2 is always full of people looking for something unique, and we are right there at M-27. At Gulshan Handicrafts, we don't really follow a strict schedule. We open up, put a few things out on the sidewalk, and see how the day goes. The shop is packed with all sorts of bits and pieces we’ve collected over time. It’s not organized like a big department store. You have to poke around a bit to see everything. The shelves are made of old wood and they sag a little under the weight of the inventory. We have a small stool near the back where we sit when things get quiet. The neighborhood is lively, and there’s always some music playing from a nearby store or the sound of shoppers talking. We don't use a computer for everything; a lot of our notes are still hand-written in big ledgers. It feels more personal that way, even if it takes a bit longer. Sometimes we forget where we put a specific item and have to spend ten minutes searching the back room. It’s just how we operate. We like the mess and the character of the place. It’s not a corporate showroom, just a local shop where we spend our days surrounded by things we like. Most days are pretty good, even when the rain keeps the customers away and we just sit and listen to the drops on the roof.
