Globe Handicrafts is based in Okhla Phase-III, at E-205 in the Ffc complex. Being in an industrial area like Okhla means there’s always a lot of activity around us. You can hear machines running and trucks loading up all day long. Our space is filled with all sorts of items waiting to be packed and sent off. We aren't a fancy boutique. It’s a working warehouse where things actually get made and shipped out. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months, but we have some big fans that help a bit. We started this business because we knew people who were good at making things by hand. Now we have a whole system for getting these items out to different places. It’s not always perfectly organized, and sometimes we have to hunt for a specific item, but we get it done. We don't have a big corporate office or a PR person to write our stuff. We just tell it like it is. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of long lists. Most of us have been working together for years, so we’re more like a family than a regular company. We just show up, do the work, and hope the traffic isn't too bad on the way home. It’s a decent life and we’re proud of what we do here in Okhla. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we’re still here.
