Fashion Factory (India)

Fashion Factory (India) is located in the basement of H-56 in Lajpat Nagar-I. Being in a basement in Lajpat Nagar means space is tight, but we make it work. We’ve got sewing machines and cutting tables squeezed in there. It’s usually pretty loud with the humming of the motors and people talking over them. We do a lot of garment work. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there’s always something happening right outside our door. We don't have a big fancy storefront with mannequins. Most of our work is done for other people who sell the clothes. We just focus on the stitching and the patterns. Our crew is small, and we’ve all been working together for a while. Sometimes the piles of fabric get so high you can hardly see across the room. We don't really do the whole corporate thing. We just take the orders, cut the cloth, and get the sewing done. It’s hard on the eyes and the back sometimes, but we like the work. If you find the right stairs, you’ll see us down there working away. It’s not a glamorous spot, but it’s where we get everything done every single day without much fuss or bother. We just keep our heads down and finish the garments on time.
