Farash Carpets

Farash Carpets is in the basement at B-153, Lajpat Nagar-I. Since we are in a basement, it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice for us and the carpets. We have been in Lajpat Nagar for a long time, and we have seen the neighborhood change a lot. Our shop is packed tight with all sorts of carpets. You have to be careful where you step sometimes because we have so many piles. We do not have big windows or fancy displays. People usually find us by walking down the stairs when they see our sign. It is a family-run thing, so there is always someone around to talk to. We spend a lot of time cleaning and rotating the stock so nothing gets stale. We are not interested in being a huge corporation. We like being a local spot where people can just come and look at things without being pressured. Sometimes we just sit and have tea while waiting for the next person to come down. It is a quiet life down here, away from the noise of the main street. We know the history of most of the pieces we have. We do not use any fancy marketing tricks. If you like a carpet, you like it. That is all there is to it. We just keep doing what we know and hope people keep coming down those stairs.
