Dreamz Handicrafts is tucked into a basement at L-30 in Kalkaji. You have to walk down a short flight of stairs to get to us. Because we are in a basement, it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice. The space is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of handmade items. There are piles of textiles, wooden carvings, and metal trinkets everywhere you look. It can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We spend most of our days unpacking new arrivals or wrapping things up to be sent out. Kalkaji is a crowded area, so there is always the sound of people and traffic outside our small windows near the ceiling. We started this because we liked the things people could make by hand, and it just grew from there. It’s a bit messy and sometimes we lose track of where we put a specific box, but we eventually find it. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy store window on the main street. We just have our basement and a lot of beautiful things that people have made with their own two hands. If you drop by, you will likely find us sitting among the piles of stock, probably checking an inventory list or drinking some chai.
