Our place is down in the lower ground floor at K-2097 in C.R. Park. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice, but we have to keep the lights on all day to see anything. Chokhor Tibetan Handicrafts Export Pvt. Ltd. is mostly a family-run kind of thing. We have boxes stacked up almost everywhere because we are always sending things out to different countries. It is not a fancy showroom for tourists. It is more of a practical place where we do the packing and the sorting. You will usually smell some incense burning when you walk in, and there is probably a kettle on for tea in the corner. We focus on traditional Tibetan items that we get from different makers we have known for years. Sometimes the shipments are late, and we have to spend the whole weekend catching up on old orders. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it is usually quiet except for the vegetable vendors shouting in the mornings. We have been in this spot for a while now and the neighbors all know us. We do not really do much to promote ourselves; we just keep busy with the orders that come in. It is a lot of bubble wrap and tape and checking addresses on labels. Sometimes the internet goes out and we cannot print anything, which is a headache. We just take it as it comes.
