Cafe Zaffiro

If you go down to Zamrudpur 25 in Greater Kailash I, you will find Cafe Zaffiro. It is in a bit of a funny spot because Zamrudpur is like a little village tucked inside the fancy part of GK. Our cafe is small and we’ve tried to make it comfortable, but it’s definitely not a big corporate coffee shop. We have some old chairs and a few plants that we try to keep alive. The coffee machine is the loudest thing in the room, and it’s always running. We get a mix of people—some students working on laptops and some locals who just want to chat. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons, and sometimes you have to share a table with a stranger. We don't mind, and usually, the customers don't either. We spend a lot of time testing out different beans and trying to get the milk right, though sometimes we mess it up and have to start over. The street outside is narrow and can be a bit messy, but that is just how Zamrudpur is. We like being here because it feels more real than the big malls nearby. We don't have any slogans or big promises. We just open the shutters in the morning, brew the first pot, and see who comes in. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the grinder is going and the music is playing.
