Cafe Coffee Day

Our cafe is located on the first floor of A34 at Thokar Number 6 in Shaheen Bagh. It’s right in the middle of the Abul Fazal-2 area in Okhla. We get a lot of students from the nearby university and people who live in the apartments around here. The space is usually filled with the sound of the coffee grinder and people talking over their drinks. We’ve got some simple tables and chairs, and a few spots near the window where you can watch the street below. It gets very busy in the afternoons, especially when the weather is nice. The staff is just a few of us who live nearby. We spend a lot of our shift making lattes and cleaning up the tables. It’s not a quiet, polished library; it’s a place where people come to hang out and stay for a while. Sometimes we run out of certain snacks or the milk delivery is late, and we just have to explain that to the customers. The air conditioning works okay, but on the really hot Delhi days, it struggles to keep the whole room cool. We have a small music system that plays whatever we’re in the mood for that day. It’s a bit worn out in places, like the cushions on the benches, but it feels comfortable. We just keep things moving, serving coffee and keeping the place open until late. It’s a regular part of the neighborhood life in New Delhi-25.
