Cafe Morrison

Our place is at E 12 in the Gourmet Gallery area of South Extension Part II. It’s a bit of a hidden spot if you aren't looking for it. We’ve been here for a long time, and the walls are covered in posters and old pictures we’ve collected over the years. We spend a lot of time behind the bar or in the small kitchen. The music is almost always playing, usually some old rock and roll that we like. It isn't a bright, shiny cafe. It’s actually quite dark inside even during the day. We like it that way. We spend our mornings cleaning up from the night before and checking the speakers. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up and we have to spend an hour fixing it before we can serve anyone. It’s a small team here, so we all know each other well. People come in to escape the noise of the South Ext main market. It’s a place where you can just sit and not be bothered. We don't have fancy uniforms or corporate rules. We just serve the food and drinks we have and keep the music going. Sometimes it gets really crowded and people have to squeeze in, but no one seems to mind much. It’s just a local hangout for people who like a certain vibe. We’re just here doing our thing every day in this corner.
