Cafe High 5

Hauz Khas Village is a busy place because it’s so old and yet so full of new things. We are located at TB 6 & 1A, on the first floor. You have to walk up the stairs to find Cafe High 5. Being near the Axis Bank ATM helps people find us, as the lanes here can be a bit confusing if you’re not from Delhi. The view from the windows is mostly of other buildings and the narrow street below. It’s always crowded with people walking around, looking at the shops or going to the park. We spent a lot of time getting this space ready. It’s an old building, so the walls have some character, or at least that’s what we call the cracks and the uneven bits. We have a lot of different people coming through the doors. Some are tourists, some are local students, and some just want a place to sit away from the sun. The air conditioning is almost always on because Delhi gets so hot. We don't have a lot of staff, so we all take turns doing the dishes or serving the tables. It’s a fast-paced environment but we try to keep it relaxed inside. We’ve been here for a bit now and have seen the village change quite a lot. We just stay in our corner and keep the kitchen running. It’s a simple setup for a busy city.
