Cafe Coffee Day

Our little corner in the M Block Market of Greater Kailash III stays pretty active throughout the week. Being at M 58 means we see everyone who comes to the market for their errands or just to walk around. It’s not a huge space, so things can feel a bit cramped when the afternoon rush hits and everyone wants a seat at the same time. We spend a lot of our shift just moving chairs back into place and clearing away empty cups. The windows look out onto the street, so you can watch the cars and the shoppers while you’re working behind the counter. It’s a lot of routine stuff, like checking the bean levels and making sure the fridge is cold enough. We get a lot of younger people coming in after school and some older folks who have been living in GK for decades. They usually have their favorite spots to sit. The walls have some scuffs here and there, and the menu cards are a bit worn out from everyone handling them, but it’s a comfortable enough place. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just the Cafe Coffee Day in this specific market, serving the local residents and whoever happens to be passing through M Block that day. We just keep the coffee flowing and the tables as clean as we can manage before closing up the shop for the night.
