Cafe 2 2 Tango

Down in Hauz Khas Village at 13 B, we have this little place called Cafe 2 2 Tango. The village is full of cafes, but we just try to keep ours simple. It’s located in one of those narrow buildings where you have to watch your head a bit. We’ve got some tables and some art on the walls that we put up ourselves. It’s not professionally designed or anything like that. We just wanted it to feel comfortable. A lot of the time, it’s just one or two of us working, making the coffee and bringing out the food. It can get a bit slow on weekday afternoons, which is nice if you want to read a book, but then Friday hits and it's a totally different story. The name usually makes people ask questions, but we just liked how it sounded. We spend a lot of time in that small kitchen area trying to get things right. The plumbing in these old village buildings can be a nightmare sometimes, so we’re often fixing things when we aren't cooking. It’s just the reality of being in this part of town. We don't have any grand goals or anything; we just want to have a place where people can hang out without feeling rushed. It’s been at 13 B for a while now and we’re just happy to be here. The view from the window is just more buildings, but it’s our little piece of the world.
