C. H. Handicrafts

We are based at 370 F.F. in Sant Nagar. It’s a first-floor space, so we have to carry everything up the stairs, which keeps us in shape, I suppose. C. H. Handicrafts is a small setup. We don't have dozens of employees, just a few of us who have been working together for a while. Sant Nagar is a crowded residential area, so we try to keep the noise down so we don't bother the neighbors too much. Our rooms are filled with boxes, fabric, and whatever else we are working on at the moment. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We don't have a big budget for advertising, so most people find us through word of mouth or by just seeing our name on the door. I’ve lived in this area most of my life, so setting up the business here felt natural. We spend a lot of time just sitting around the main table, working on pieces and talking about whatever is on the news. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, though we do get stressed when a deadline is coming up. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a small stove to boil water for chai. It’s a humble place, but it’s ours. We just try to do honest work and keep the business running one day at a time without making too much of a fuss. The rent goes up every few years, but we’re still here doing our thing and helping each other out.
