Bul Bul Handicraft Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in the basement of building B-78 in Dayanand Colony. Being in Lajpat Nagar-IV means it is always crowded outside, but once you step down into the basement, it gets much quieter. The air down here usually smells a bit like wood and old fabric because of the items we keep in stock. We have been in this spot for years, and the walls are covered in marks from moving heavy crates back and forth. The lighting is not the brightest, so we have a few extra floor lamps scattered around so we can actually see what we are doing when we check the inventory. It gets a little damp when it rains heavily in Delhi, so we have to be careful about where we stack the more delicate items. Usually, there are three or four of us here, and we spend most of our time answering the phone or wrapping items in bubble wrap. The chai wallah from the corner comes by twice a day, and that is usually when we take a break and sit on the edge of the packing tables. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when a big shipment arrives, and we often have to shuffle everything around just to make a path to the door. It is just a regular basement workspace where we get our daily tasks done.
