Broadway Handicrafts

Being right in the middle of Central Market in Madangir means there is never a quiet moment. Broadway Handicrafts sits at B-1, and if you know the market, you know it gets crowded fast. We deal with a lot of different pieces, mostly stuff we have to move by hand through the narrow aisles. The shop isn't huge, but we make the most of the space we have. You’ll see stacks of things here and there. Sometimes it looks a bit messy, but we know where everything is. The morning starts with opening up the shutters and seeing who is already out shopping or delivering. There’s a lot of noise from the street vendors and the traffic nearby. It’s just the way things are in Madangir. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been here for years. We handle the handicrafts and talk to the people who stop by. It’s not corporate at all. We might be sitting on a stool having chai when you walk in. That’s just the vibe of the market. Broadway Handicrafts isn't a place for suits or long meetings. It’s a place for working with our hands and getting things sold. We’ve been at B-1 for a long time, and the locals know us well enough. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going.
