Bhatia Musicals is a small shop. We don’t have a big, sprawling location, but we make do with the space we have. Most people who come in are looking for something specific, maybe a new string or a local instrument. We’ve been around for quite a while, and the place has that smell of wood and old cases that you only find in music stores. It’s not a polished, modern retail store with bright neon lights. It’s more of a corner where you can come and talk about what you need. We keep a variety of things in stock, but if we don't have it, we usually know where to find it. Sometimes the shelves get a bit messy, and there’s always someone tuning something in the back, so there’s a constant hum of sound. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people are inside, but that’s part of the charm, I guess. We aren’t trying to compete with the big online websites. We just like having a physical spot where people can actually touch the instruments before they take them home. The floorboards creak a little, and we’ve got posters on the walls that have been there for years. It’s a simple business. We open up in the morning, dust off the instruments, and wait for whoever stops by. It’s a good way to spend the day if you like music and talking to people. We just keep things going one day at a time.
