We are the Balaji Bhatt Rajasthani & Punjabi Kalakar Group and you can find us in Nehru Nagar, right near the main market area. We are basically a group of performers and artists who focus on traditional Rajasthani and Punjabi culture. Being near the market means there is always a lot of noise and people around, which actually fits what we do pretty well. We spend a lot of our time practicing and getting ready for different events or gatherings where people want some music or dancing. Our place isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside we have all our instruments and costumes stored. It can get pretty cramped when the whole group is together. We have been doing this for a long time because we enjoy the music and the culture of our homes. People in Nehru Nagar know us and often stop by to chat or ask about upcoming dates. We don't really do much advertising; mostly people just hear us practicing or see us at local functions. It is a busy life being a kalakar, traveling around and then coming back here to rest and regroup. The main market is just a short walk away, so we are always in the middle of everything. It is a good spot for a group like ours because it feels alive. We just keep doing our thing day after day. Our instruments are always ready for the next performance that comes our way.
