Allied Exports

You can find Allied Exports down in the basement of L-73 in Malviya Nagar. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which is nice, but we have to keep the lights on all day because there isn't much natural sun. It’s mostly just a space for us to get things ready for shipping. There are always boxes stacked up against the walls and tape dispensers lying around. We handle a lot of different items for export, so there is usually a lot of paperwork and checking lists. It’s not a fancy showroom. If you came to visit, you’d probably have to step over a few crates to find a place to sit. We’ve been in Malviya Nagar for a while now and we like the neighborhood because everything we need is close by. Sometimes the courier trucks have a hard time parking on the street because it gets so narrow with all the cars. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing out emails to people in other countries. It’s a small operation, just a handful of us making sure things get sent to the right place. We don't have a big fancy sign outside, just a small one so people don't get lost. It's a bit dusty down here and the stairs are a little steep, but we are used to it. We just focus on getting the work done every day.
