About Abbasi Good Craft – Art & Craft in South Delhi
We are tucked away in the basement at A-181 in New Friends Colony. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, but we definitely need the extra lights on all day to see what we’re doing. It’s a workshop through and through. There are tools hanging on the walls and pieces of wood or metal lying around depending on what the current project is. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for it, but we like it that way. It keeps the distractions down. We do various types of craft work here. The floor is usually covered in sawdust or shavings by midday. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful not to trip over things. We don't have a showroom, so if you come by, you’re seeing the actual work happening right in front of you. It’s a bit noisy when the drills or saws are going, but that’s the sound of things getting made. We’ve been in this New Friends Colony spot for a while now. The people upstairs are used to the occasional noise. We just focus on making things that are solid and useful. We aren't interested in fancy marketing or looking polished. We just want to do good work and keep the shop running. It’s a simple life down here in the basement.
