Aaffreen

Aaffreen is located on the second floor of F 323 C in Lado Sarai. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we like it here. Lado Sarai has a lot of creative energy with all the galleries and studios around. Our space is mostly where we do our designing and some of the stitching. It isn't a massive factory; it’s just a few of us working on garments. We spend a lot of time surrounded by fabric scraps and thread. Sometimes the place looks like a total mess when we’re in the middle of a project, but we know where everything is. We don't follow any corporate rules or have fancy meetings. We just talk about what looks good and try to make it happen. The light in the afternoon is pretty good for seeing colors. We don't have a big sign outside, so you have to look for the building number. Most people who come here are looking for something a bit different than what they find in the malls. We handle everything from picking the fabric to the final buttons. It’s a slow process sometimes, and we often stay late to finish things up. There’s always chai being made and someone complaining about the heat, but we enjoy the work. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and don't plan on moving. It suits us just fine. We just take it one outfit at a time.
