Island Tower

Living and working in Port Blair has its own rhythm. Island Tower is located right on Shastri Road, just across from the Gandhi Statue which everyone knows. We are part of the Aberdeen Bazar area, so it is never really quiet around here. Being at Door No 42, we see the daily market life unfold every morning. It is not a massive skyscraper or anything, just a building that serves its purpose for the community here. The sea breeze is nice, but it does make maintaining the structure a bit of a challenge. We spend a lot of time on upkeep because things wear down fast in the 744101 climate. We aren't a big chain from the mainland. We are just local people managing a local spot under the Jaimathi name. Most of the folks who come in are regulars from the bazar or travelers looking for a place to stay near the main center. We don't have a polished front desk staff with uniforms. It is usually just one of us sitting there to help out. Sometimes the power goes out or the water supply is slow, but that is just part of living on the islands. We take it one day at a time. It is a practical place for people who need to be in the heart of the town. We don't have many rules, just the basic ones to keep things running. It is a good spot to watch the world go by.
