Hotel Sentinel

Hotel Sentinel sits over in Phoenix Bay. If you’ve been to this part of the world, you know it’s all about the water and the boats. We can see the activity from the bay from different spots around the hotel. It’s a bit of a sturdy building, meant to handle the tropical weather we get. We have a lot of people coming through who are catching ferries or just exploring the islands. The lobby is a place where people usually sit and wait for their rides. We have some wooden furniture that’s been here since we opened. Our staff knows a lot about the local boat schedules because guests ask about them fifty times a day. We try to keep the rooms cool, which is the main thing people care about when it’s humid outside. Sometimes the humidity makes the doors swell a bit, so you have to give them a good push. It’s just part of living in Phoenix Bay. We don’t go in for big advertisements or fancy slogans. We just run the hotel day by day. We make sure the breakfast is ready on time and that the rooms are cleared out for the next set of travelers. It’s a busy life, but being near the bay is good. We’ve been here a long time and seen the area change quite a bit.
