If you head down to Barendra Para in Rajpur, you'll find us at M N C. The office is right near the Sonarpur police station, which makes it easy enough to find for the locals. It is a very quiet neighborhood compared to the rest of Kolkata, with more trees and fewer cars honking all the time. Our workspace is just a single floor in an old building that has a lot of character, mostly in the form of cracks in the plaster and a heavy wooden door. We don't have a receptionist or any of those modern office perks like a coffee machine. We just have a kettle in the corner and a stack of paper cups. Most of the furniture was bought second-hand years ago, and it shows, but it is functional. We spend our days mostly working on the same kinds of tasks we've been doing for a decade. There is no talk of being the leaders in anything here; we are just people who show up and do the work. The light coming through the front window is actually quite nice in the morning before it gets too hot. By the afternoon, we usually have to close the shutters to keep the sun out. It’s a plain, simple life here in Sonarpur, and we aren't looking to change much about how we do things or how we look to the outside world.
