We are over in Sahebpara, Sonarpur, which is a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of Kolkata. Our office is set up through Dr. P. Ghosh’s place, which gives it a very local, neighborhood vibe. It doesn't feel like a big office building. We’ve been operating as Envirotch East for a while, focusing on the technical side of environmental work in the region. It’s not a big corporate setup with elevators and glass walls. Instead, it’s more like a family-run operation where everyone knows everyone else. We have desks set up and a lot of technical manuals and gear lying around. Most of the people working here have lived in Sonarpur for a long time. We don't have a fancy website or a PR team to handle things. We just do the work that comes our way. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes it’s slow, especially during the monsoon when getting around the streets can be a bit of a mess for us. We drink a lot of tea while we go over the project details in the afternoons. It’s just honest work. We don't try to sound like a multinational company. We are just local people helping out with environmental technology in West Bengal. Being in Sahebpara means we are part of the community here. We know the postman and the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a simple, straightforward way to run things for a business like ours.
