Effluent Watertreatment

If you are looking for us, we are out in Village Pratapnagar. You have to go via Champahati to get here, down in the 24 Parganas South district. It is a bit of a journey from the main city areas, but we like being out where the actual work is. We deal with water treatment, which mostly means fixing pumps, installing filters, and making sure the local tanks are clean. It is a very hands-on job. You won't find us wearing suits or sitting in air-conditioned rooms all day. Most of the time, we are out in the sun or covered in grease and dust. We have a small shed where we store all our pipes, tools, and chemicals. It’s not a very organized place, but we know exactly where every wrench is. The village is quiet, and everyone knows everyone else. When someone has a problem with their water, they just come by or send a message through the post office. We have an old truck that we use to carry the heavy equipment across the bumpy roads. In the monsoon, it gets really tough to move around, but we manage somehow. We have been doing this for years, and we’ve learned everything by just doing it. We don't have any big brochures or sales people. We just show up, look at the problem, and try to fix it so it stays fixed. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
