Om Public School

Out here at the 4th Milestone on Jind Road, Om Public School sits a bit away from the main rush of Gohana. It’s a bit of a drive, but that’s just how it is on this side of Sonepat. We have been here for a while, watching the fields change with the seasons. The school is a large enough building with plenty of windows to catch the breeze. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything. It’s just a local school. The kids come in on buses from the surrounding villages and the town. Mornings are all about getting everyone off the buses and into their seats. We deal with the usual school stuff—leaky pens, lost sweaters, and messy desks. The playground gets dusty when it hasn't rained in a while, and the hallways are never truly quiet. We don’t use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just teach the lessons, organize the sports days, and make sure the bells ring on time. The staff here is mostly from Gohana or nearby areas, so we understand the local way of doing things. It’s a straightforward life. We focus on the books and the exams. Sometimes things break and we have to fix them ourselves. It’s an honest place where real work gets done. When the final bell goes off, the buses line up and the silence settles back over Jind Road until the next morning.
