Vishwashanti Gurukul School

We are located on the Pune Pandharpur Road, specifically in Wakhari. If you’ve ever traveled to Pandharpur, you’ve probably passed by our gates. Vishwashanti Gurukul School sits in a spot that gets a lot of travelers going by, especially during the pilgrimage times. It’s a dusty stretch of road, so we’re always dusting off the windows and the desks. The school itself is a mix of different buildings. We have a lot of open space, which is good because it gives the kids room to breathe. The wind can get quite strong out here, blowing through the open corridors. Our daily routine is pretty set. We start early before the heat of the day really kicks in. The teachers here mostly live nearby or commute from the town. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just the usual charts and student drawings. Sometimes the water taps leak a little or a door squeaks, but we fix things as we go. Lunchtime is a big deal here, with everyone sitting together. You can see the fields nearby, and sometimes you hear the tractors working while we’re in the middle of a math lesson. It’s a very grounded kind of place. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. It’s just a school in Wakhari where children come to learn their lessons and play in the dirt during their break. We just keep moving through the school year.
