You can find us over in Dayanand Nagar, which is part of the Ravivar Peth area in Solapur. This is Dayanand College Of Education, and we’ve been situated here in Maharashtra for quite a while. The neighborhood is usually quite busy, especially on market days, but inside the college walls, we try to keep things focused on the coursework. We are mainly here for people who want to become teachers. It’s a straightforward kind of place without any unnecessary decorations. The hallways are wide and the rooms are filled with students who are often buried in their books or discussing their next teaching practice. Being in Solapur, we get a lot of local students from the city and some who travel in from the smaller towns nearby. The address is easy to find if you’re familiar with the Ravivar Peth side of town. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or a big marketing department. We just have our staff who have been here for years and know the routine inside out. It’s a lot of work running a college of education, but we just take it one day at a time. The building is sturdy and has that old-school feel to it, which suits what we do here. It’s just a place for learning and getting through the degree requirements so everyone can move on to their careers in schools later on. We have been doing this for years and it feels normal.
