We open the shutters early at 155/156 Kanna Chowk. Solapur gets quite dusty so the first thing is always cleaning the mirrors. Being near Axis Bank means there is always someone walking by or looking for a quick trim before their shift starts. Kanna Chowk Road is never really quiet. We have these old chairs that have seen a lot of years but they still work fine for what we do. It is just a simple place for a haircut or a shave. Nothing too fancy here. I usually keep some old newspapers on the table for people waiting. Sometimes the tea guy from down the street drops by and we chat about the weather. It is 413001, so the heat can be something in the summer months. Most people who come in are regulars from around the neighborhood. They know where we are. We don't really do big signs or anything. Just the name on the front. Sometimes a customer asks for a style they saw on the phone and we try to get it right. It’s mostly just keeping things neat. The light in here is okay in the mornings. Later on, we turn on the tubes. It's a job like any other, keeping people looking decent. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and the neighbors are all good people. Just a regular day at Singral Hair Style. There is always hair on the floor to sweep and more people coming in.
