Samrat Hair Beauty Salon

We are located at 1290 Bhadravati Peth, right on Akkalkot Road in Solapur. If you find the Andhra Bank, you are basically there. This salon has been part of the Sakhar Peth area for a good bit of time now. It’s a small space, nothing like those big malls you see in cities. We do hair cutting, some basic facials, and threading for the ladies. The lights aren't the brightest, but we get the job done. My sister and I run the place most days. We learned the work from an old barber in the next town over years ago. Sometimes the shop gets crowded and we have to tell people to come back in an hour or so. We don't have a computer or an appointment system. You just walk in and wait your turn on the plastic chairs. The floor gets covered in hair quickly, so we are always sweeping with the old broom. It’s a lot of standing up. Our backs hurt by the end of the day, but that is part of the trade. People come here to chat about the local news while they get a haircut. It’s a friendly place. We don't use those high-end products that cost a fortune. Just the regular creams and soaps from the local market. It’s a honest way to earn a living in Solapur. We keep the doors open late most evenings until the street lights come on and everyone goes home.
