Mahila Kranti Agrotech Producer Company Limited is run by a group of us women here in Neknoor. Our main spot is at Phulchand Nandu Luchare’s house, number 1617/2. It is not always easy being in the farming business, especially for women, but we decided it was time we had our own group to manage things. We deal with the dirt and the seeds just like anyone else. Neknoor is where we grew up and where we raise our families. The work in the fields starts early, before the sun gets too high, and we often have to balance that with looking after the kids and the house. This company gives us a way to speak up and get better prices for what we grow. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow crops and try to sell them. The agrotech part of our name sounds a bit technical, but really, it is just about using better ways to farm so we don't waste as much. We meet up at the house to talk about who needs help with harvesting or if someone found a better way to store grain. It is a very local thing. We aren't looking to become some big corporation. We just want to make sure the women in our village can earn a proper living from their own land. Our address is H.No.1617/2 in Neknoor, and that is where the heart of our work stays for now.
