Our office is tucked away in Solan, specifically at Shanti Niwas which is Shanti Devi’s place. Most locals know the area because it’s near the poultry section. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that keeps things quiet for us while we work on our software projects. Pine Hills Software isn't some big glass building you see in the city. It’s more of a home-turned-office setup, which feels more comfortable anyway. We have been in Himachal Pradesh for a while now, and being in Solan is handy because it’s right between the bigger cities. The air is a bit better here too. We spend our hours sitting in front of screens, typing away and trying to fix bugs or build new things for people who need them. Sometimes you can hear the birds or the general noise from the nearby poultry farm, but it’s just part of the atmosphere. We don’t really do much in the way of big meetings or anything like that. It’s just us, some computers, and whatever work came in this week. We try to keep things simple. There’s no dress code or anyone breathing down your neck. We just get the tasks done and then go home. It’s a small operation, really. Most of our neighbors are just families living their lives, so we try to be quiet and not cause any fuss. It’s a good way to earn a living without all the stress of a typical office job.
